Pakhuis de Zwijger, Amsterdam organiseert:
UN Habitat Urban Labs - Urban Challenges in Ghana, Mexico, Philipines, Palestine and Myanmar
Maandag 14 november, 20:00 uur, New Urban Agenda
Habitat III is the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development taking place in Quito from 17-20 October 2016, to identify and address new and emerging challenges. An ever-growing global urban population calls for a revival of the global commitment to sustainable urbanization and the implementation of a New Urban Agenda.
‘New Urban Agenda’ is the Pakhuis de Zwijger programme series to explore urban challenges around the world and the people and organisations who address them through local initiatives, design and research and innovative policy interventions.
Within the context of the UN Habitat III Conference and the New Urban Agenda, UN-Habitat and the Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie started their collaboration in 2015 to explore urban development from an international and interdisciplinary perspective. The results of their project was presented in Quito from 17 to 20 October.
The collaborative project is supported by 20 designers, who work as a team in 5 urban labs around the world. For a full year, the designers worked on international and multidisciplinary assignments based on the urgent urban challenges of our time.
This evening will reflect on Fabrica Ciudad, Pakhuis de Zwijger’s project around Habitat III, and the urban labs. What are the lessons learned and what do the findings mean for the future implementation of the New Urban Agenda?
